Old Timers Pace Slated for Saturday

Freehold, NJ – Freehold Raceway will be hosting a unique race on Saturday (Dec. 29), as seven horses will contest the running of the “Old Timers Pace.” The race, restricted to 12, 13, and 14-year-olds, will be run as race three on the card.Two horses will be making their final starts in this race: Esprit de Kayjay A and Stormin Rustler. Esprit de Kayjay has won 82 races and earned more than $556,000 in his career. This year, he’s won 11 races, with all but one of them coming at Freehold. He’ll be driven by usual driver Andy Miller.
Stormin Rustler will make his 396th lifetime start on Saturday, in search of his 55th career victory. He is most notable for having won a race at the Meadowlands every year from 2010 to 2017. This year, the Mike Posner trainee has won 11 starts, with his most recent win coming at Freehold on Saturday (Nov. 17). Austin Siegelman will drive him.
The field is rounded out by Camwiser, trained by Vincent Valente, Just That, trained by Robert Bresnahan, San Antony-O, trained by Eric Davis, Must Be The Bunny, trained by Phillip Bo Sowers, and Blue Strike, trained by Mark Infante.
First race post time for Saturday’s 10-race card is 12:30 p.m.
